Paolo Maldini spoke to Milan TV after the win over Parma, and he said some nice things about Tiémoué Bakayoko.

Maldini said:

There’s a huge difference between today’s performance and the one against Dudelange that stands out because in Europa League we didn’t play well despite winning the game. There are lots of good aspects in today’s game. Bakayoko, for instance, looks reborn. We probably were a little hasty in judging him. He has already shown good things, he must feel part of the group and of this project. We consider him a strong asset.

Bakayoko has been a different player these past few weeks after being inserted into the starting lineup. Perhaps the crisis that has lead to Milan being linked to close to a dozen central midfielders in the past few weeks isn’t so great as we think?

Milan still probably needs at least one more good midfielder, as it doesn’t look like Andrea Bertolacci or Jose Mauri are going to be able to contribute very much this season, and with both Giacomo Bonaventura and Lucas Biglia out long-term, some reinforcements will be needed, and more than just Lucas Paqueta.

On to the links.
