Gennaro Gattuso complimented Real Betis and noted that once the team went to a 3-4-3 with Suso on the right, where he usually plays, that the team performed better.

Speaking at the press conference after the match, Gattuso said:
The draw is a fair result, Real Betis are a great team, they have important players and I’m not surprised by their performance. They always look to outsmart their opponents, it takes courage and organization to beat them. After the group draw, I immediately realized that we were in a very difficult group and that we would have to gain qualification on the last matchday. We struggled with the 5-man defence, then moving Suso and Calhanoglu in their usual position, in a 3-4-3, we played better.
It’s good to see that the manager can see the same thing that we all see, that the team was struggling a lot in the first half, and that adjustments were made in order to try and come back. Perhaps Gattuso is learning about tactics after all.
