Stop me if you’re heard this rumor before: Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey might be headed to AC Milan.

Yeah, so this isn’t a new rumor or anything, but it appears that yet another outlet is reporting that a deal for the Wales midfielder to head to Italy is now set, and this time it’s even from one of the English broadsheets.

The Guardian, not exactly known for their rumor-mongering or spicy hot takes, is now reporting that a Ramsey is set to sign a deal with Milan in January.

Obviously, the “Ramsey to Milan” rumor has been talked about for awhile now, and with Milan’s struggles in midfield, it’s obvious to see why. Milan need more consistency out of their midfield, as Giacomo Bonaventura, Franck Kessie, and Lucas Biglia haven’t always good enough in Serie A to control a match, not to mention Milan’s failure against Real Betis in the Europa League, which exposed a lot of the problems with the midfield at Milan.

Even with the club adding one of highest profile young Brazilian players in Lucas Paqueta in midfield, with Biglia out hurt and Tiémoué Bakayoko also not playing as well as hoped, there is a serious crisis in midfield. Paqueta will be joining Milan from Flamengo in January, but he might need some time to adjust to Europe, and can’t be relied on to step in and play like Kaka right off the bat.

Ramsey, along with Paqueta, could immediately provide a boost to the center of the pitch for Milan. Even though Ramsey has only started six matches in the Premier League this season for Arsenal, he’d still be a huge upgrade for Milan, and with the pace of Serie A not nearly as intense as it is in the Premier League, he’ll still be able to play at a high level for many years at the San Siro.
