AC Milan have closed off another protracted transfer saga after finally sealing the deal to take Fiorentina’s Nikola Kalinic from La Viola to Milan.

The striker brings Serie A talent, experience, strength, size and ability to the Milan frontline and should be more than a handful for defences across the Serie A league and beyond.
This deal was quite expensive for Milan to close and it looks like it will either be a loan with a €20m fee next season, or a fee now upwards of €30m. Kalinic isn’t the most jaw-dropping signing, but he’s got a big part to play for Milan this season, and this buy will have made Vincenzo Montella happy, so that’s good!
Nikola will replace Carlos Bacca and compete with Andre Silva and Patrick Cutrone for the single striking slot to lead the line for Milan. Ideally we will see him start and come on as a late-game threat.
