Milan are doing well in Europe, but let’s be honest - we are all looking forward to Serie A action in full and that starts to today as AC Milan head to Crotone to kick off their Serie A Campaign. Who knows where they will finish? However, to answer that we must start today!

Crotone are looking to solidify their top-flight position after a great escape last year. Mid-table is the high bar, but relegation remains a real possibility for I Pitagorici. They have an improved squad, featuring former Milan man Giovanni Crociata amongst other lower-Serie A talent. They surprised everyone last season with some real fighting spirit and will want more of the same.

The Rossoneri return to league action after a hearty pre-season that has included three European matches so far. Milan will go gunning for glory in Crotone as they sealed off their European Playoff game with a six-nil first leg victory over KF Shkëndija. Expect Milan to try and blow-out Crotone to give their season the perfect start.

Franck Kessie is expected to stick alongside Locatelli or Montolivo in midfield, with Calhanoglu dropping in from a forward position to take up Bonaventura’s position. Suso will be on the right, Silva in the middle and Borini on the left until Jack returns, or a flagship striker is purchased.

Prediction: FC Crotone 1 - 2 Milan

Milan should win this game, easily - but nothing is guaranteed, like Crotone’s relegation was seemingly ‘guaranteed’ last season. Expect them to come out and try their best to dominate, but Crotone have that fighting spirit that cannot be overlooked.
