The past couple of seasons were, needless to say, a hard sell and something of a hard pill to swallow for the Milan fans - fans accustomed to screaming the place down on magical Champions League nights, with Milan taking on European heavy hitters. Now, we’re not there yet, but the current squad gives us every reason to believe they’re going places.

Any way you slice it, Milan have not been much to look at, and the rough patch they waded through saw the once vast number of fans coming to the stadium decimated. Having said that, tomorrow will be the first game at home after a dismal spell away from the European stage. It was a long time coming and what makes it all the more special is the fans- who for all intents and purposes are back in strength.

Nearly 60,000 tickets have been sold for tomorrow - the second leg of the third round of qualifying which gives us a pretty clear picture of the enthusiasm and anticipation ahead of the season.

Disillusioned people are coming back from the woodwork, eager to see the team go through their paces at close quarters. Let’s hope their presence will be a real shot in the arm for the team and propel them to a start to really shout about!

Forza Milan!
