Who is AC Milan’s mega mystery transfer target?

Fassone and Mirabelli are trying to complete a massive transfer deal - and are trying to keep it under wraps.

AC Milan’s transfer team flew out to London on a secret mission - but are not publicising anything about it. Marco Fassone, Milan’s leader in this area has teased Milan fans by stating that the club are chasing a ‘MR. X’, who could turn out to be a striking force for Milan.

What do we know? Well, the secret target isn’t Andrea Belotti; because Belotti is based in Torinio and not London (and because Milan’s interest in Belotti is widely known) and that it isn’t Aubameyang (for the same reason). All of the below is speculation, but if the transfer team were in London, that means we are likely signing someone based in England. Let’s break down some potential targets, but take this all with a pinch of salt!

Harry Kane

This Londoner is currently in the States on pre-season duty with Tottenham Hotspur, but his representatives are back home. Kane would be a target in the same vein as Belotti, because he’s a complete forward who does a bit of everything - and does it well. Kane was written off as a one-season wonder before destroying expectations and constantly performing at a very high level for Tottenham. He’s rumored to make a big money move every season. The big question is why he’d choose Milan over Tottenham; but for the answer, you’d have to ask Leo Bonucci, who made a big swap to Milan over Juventus. Harry Kane isn’t happening, simply because he looks like he’s having the time of his life at Tottenham, and he’d cost more than Mbappe!

Olivier Giroud

Olivier Giroud isn’t exactly fancied to make a move to Milan, but he’d do well at the club. He’s a big threat and he always manages to find the net - somehow! He performed remarkably well from the bench at Arsenal, but he’d want to start. If Milan are in for Kalinic, you’d have to ask why they’d want to pay more for Giroud. Still, he’s the type of player who’d do well at Milan and he’s based in London!

Michy Batshuayi

Michy is nowhere near as tantalizing as the signing of Belotti or Aubameyang, but don’t get lost, he’d be a player who could make a big wave in Serie A and in European competition for Milan. Many would say that Chelsea’s signing of Alvaro Morata means Michy is on the way out, but he’s a favourite of Antonio Conte. He’s not going anywhere. Is he?

Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez would be an incredible signing for Milan, and despite his ability, price tag and stature in the game - he looks like the most likely signing. Why? Well - he wants out of Arsenal. The former Udinese and Barcelona forward is a wanted commodity; with Manchester City and PSG chasing. If Milan can pull off the Bonucci signing, they can pull off the Alexis Sanchez signing. However, the big question is why Alexis Sanchez would choose to move to Milan when every club in the world is after him!

Who is MR. X? We have no idea - but we can make an educated guess based on the location of negotiations; but London is a cosmopolitan world city. Fassone and Mirabelli could have been talking to anyone!
