New AC Milan signing Andre Silva shows quality with solo Confederations Cup goal

Milan raised eyebrows when they closed the deal to sign Cristiano Ronaldo’s protege - Andre Silva - from Porto. Now it is Andre who is raising some eyebrows himself with a pretty classy goal.

Andre added Portugal’s third goal of the day as the Portuguese national side put New Zealand away with four goals to nil in the Confederations Cup. He also added an assist to ensure he had a role in half of Portugal’s goals.

Yes, Portugal were 2-0 up, so New Zealand were pushing high, yes it’s not against world class opposition - but you’ve got to admire Andre’s ability to take on two defenders, with a third chasing and still find space to get off a shot - and a goal at that from a difficult angle.

And, of course, for mobile users:

We’re sure Andre will continue to impress for Portugal - and for Milan in the near future.
