Donnarumma set to extend AC Milan stay

The Donnarumma saga comes to an end. For now. Hopefully.

The world woke up - or at least Italy woke up - to the front page of Il Corriere dello Sport and the news that Gianluigi Donnarumma is set to stay at AC Milan. After a few months of pretty intense negotiation - it would seem that Gigo has settled on a contract.

It wasn’t as easy as the news suggests though. The deal that has been signed is a €4 million-a-year contract, the exact same offer as the opening offer made by Marco Fassone to Donnarumma and his agent, Mino Raiola.

Games were played during this deal, that cannot be denied. Almost rightly so - Donnarumma deserves to be well paid and he will be, but he had the right to seek a good deal, which is why Raiola offered to him to Manchester City and Real Madrid - but nothing came of the move.

We are still waiting on official confirmation and when that comes through, we’ll let you know.
