Marco Fassone, the newly installed CEO of AC Milan following the RSIL takeover hasn’t been mincing his words when talking about his plans for the Rossoneri.
Fassone’s short term goal is to ensure that Vincenzo Montella - or whomever is leading AC Milan next season - has most of the team in place by the start of July and preseason. Fassone mentioned that at the very least two thirds of the new AC Milan squad will be in place by the time the coaching and playing staff return from their Summer break. As well as this, Fassone wants the club to be sustainable and financially healthy within three years.
In the long term? Fassone had a lot to say to the AC Milan website.
There is talk of a new stadium be it a renovated San Siro or a move to a new complex in Milan. Fassone at the very least wants to provide motivation for Milan fans to fill the San Siro and ensures that he will work with Inter Milan to ensure that the San Siro is fit for purpose. Fassone also wants to work to improve the wage budget of AC Milan, but says that this will be in line with the income of the club.
A potential new stadium? A near complete team by pre-season? An improvement in AC Milan’s attractiveness to fans and players? Fassone is promising a fair bit - and only time can truly reveal any truth to his words. We shall wait and see.
