Milan’s new era might start with a bit more of a bang than expected if the claims by Tuttosport that Milan are chasing Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema are true.
As the Frenchman approaches 30, he has still found himself as one of Europe’s leading strikers and would be a marquee signing for the Rossoneri. Despite his age, Benzema still has two years left on his contract and Milan would need to spend big money to prise Karim away from Zidane and Real Madrid. This is the type of money that Milan haven’t spent in a while.
Through over 350 games for Real Madrid, Benzema has clocked up nearly 180 goals - and that sort of production would be welcomed at the San Siro for AC Milan. Benzema’s fee will likely be upwards of €30 million, which AC Milan’s prospective new owners should look to pay if they want to get their era to get off to a good start.
