Superagent Mino Raiola has taken the time out today to comment on the future of his young client - our Gigio Donnarumma.
Donnarumma, the best goalkeeping prospect in Italy (if not the entire world), has taken the Milan goalkeeping position for himself and he’s not even 18 years old yet. Obviously, this generates a lot of interest, especially from Juventus - who have not yet secured a future between the sticks once Gianluigi Buffon retires.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Raiola spoke about Donnarumma at length:
"Is there anyone who can criticise Donnarumma? We will take action, then if we want to move away we will say so. Gigi is perfection, how can you criticise him? He's a humble guy, he gives everything. What is his value? For me, he’s a Modigliani."
Being compared to high art at the tender age of 17 is one thing, but being above criticism? That’s another.
The thing is - speculation about Donnarumma will never end, even if Milan cement their place back at the top of European football. The best teams in the world want the best players and emerging leagues want star names to build prestige.
Donnarumma? He’s going to stay until he doesn’t want to and luckily, it’s Milan who will be naming the price.
