Milan soundly beat a dominant Fiorentina side to the sword in their last outing, a two one victory where Gerard Deulofeu ran the show for the first time in Milan colours. Vincenzo Montella’s Rossoneri side beat one of their closest rivals in the battle for continental qualification and will look to build on their past few results.
However, today’s game with Sassuolo represents a different test for AC Milan. One must cast their mind back to the home game in October, when Sassuolo put three past Donnarumma before capitulating to a resurgent Milan.
That same fighting spirit could go a long way in ensuring Milan grab the three points today and keep their season alive. Any loss at this stage could damn the Rossoneri, once again, to mid-table mediocrity.
