AC Milan, in their usual curt style have announced that Alessio Romagnoli is the latest person to succumb to injury this season.

‘AC Milan announces that Alessio Romagnoli today underwent a medical examination that revealed an injury to his right thigh flexor.’

No news of the actual injury has been leaked as of yet, but this is going to add another headache to Vincenzo Montella’s current team selection migraine.

Romagnoli adds to Milan’s defensive injury crisis that has ruled out Mattia De Sciglio, Luca Antonelli and Davide Calabria thus far with Gabriel Paletta suspended due to match conduct. Giacomo Bonaventura and Riccardo Montolivo are also injured, meaning that six rossoneri are currently on the injury table.

That’s over half a team.

Unless Milan’s reserve and youth players can seriously step up, this latest injury might damn Milan’s season. Milan managed to win a game with a patchwork back-four, but they will now be truly tested.
