As frustrating as that was to watch, Milanisti can sleep somewhat easily knowing the game was most played with substitutes and reserves. That being said, players like Zanellato didn't do themselves any favors with what was really a poor showing in all aspects of the game. Zapata showed his inconsistencies as he looked shaky all night. Antonelli found the same struggles.
The first goal came from an absolutely magical free kick after Biglia committed a foul outside the box. To Storari's credit, Donnarumma would've been hard pressed to get to it. The second goal was a mixture of poor defending from Calabria and event poorer work from Paletta to let his man get in front of him.
Milan just didn't look good tonight. There was a dearth of creativity and when there was a spark it was concluded with a missed chance. Locatelli seemed to be one of the few who cared about the game and did well to justify his case for more playing time in the middle. What was to be expected of three registas in the middle though?
Milan are back in action Sunday (12/10) at home against Bologna, who sit even with Milan on points with 21. This is a must win game as there is a lack of confidence lingering with the squad.
