That’s a bit better. Truthfully, while we were the better side up until the first goal, it was still sloppy until said goal. That being said, the goal off the corner by Romagnoli sparked the side to life.
Calhanoglu had a few good chances early on, and it was his cross from the corner that Romagnoli headed by a flustered Consigli. The injection of confidence carried Milan forward as they looked fluid and almost seemed to have a true identity. Suso was switched back to the right side after a formation change and it didn’t take long for him to cut around a defender and smash a ball into the goal that Consigli could do little about.
Borini looked especially dangerous with a few chances of his own that Consigli did well to save.
Other than a 15’ chance saved by Donnarumma, the defense really weren’t troubled as Bonucci put in an assured performance. It’s good to see us play well but it needs to come without a cushion behind them as Napoli will hammer us into the ground if we come out the way we did to this game. However, that being said if we play like we did after the first goal we may have a chance to climb our way up the lengthy ladder that is the Serie A table. The Rossoneri are back in action the 18th after the international break against Napoli, and preparation starts now.
