That was about as frustrating as it gets. It wasn't that Milan was that poor because defensively they were relatively sound. Other than a little panic when Musacchio cheaply gave the ball away, which almost led to a goal, Donnarumma and the defense were never really troubled.
The problem was Milan was stupid with the ball. Locatelli, Suso, Silva, everyone was trying from distance. We had an extra man in attack and we still felt the need to not try and work it around. They wanted us to shoot it from out there. Credit to AEK for containing us and soaking in the pressure because that's an easy way to combat us.
Cutrone had a lovely scissor kick off his chest that was called back for offside and Milan had a few chances at the end but AEK keeper Gianni's Anestis was in fine form. Unfortunately, we didn't really test him much until the end. Andre Silva was frustrated most the game as nothing really fell his way either.
The lads will be back in action Sunday against Genoa in what really should be a must win for Milan in order to make a statement. A loss may see the end of Montella's tenure
