Milan’s mercato ends with a whimper

2 loans in, 2 loans out. Yikes.

If you thought Milan wanted to make a serious charge in the Serie A this season, you’d be right! Unfortunately the head honchos at the club want Montella to do it all on his own.

One of the better Milan managers in recent years will have to see the season through with almost no backing in the transfer market as Milan’s business comes to a close on the back of two loan signings - Deulofeu and Ocampos. The Rossoneri also loaned out M’Baye Niang to Watford and Rodrigo Ely has left for Alaves until the end of the season.

But it’s all over - so you better be happy with it:

Milan CEO Adriano Galliani admits the ‘transfer window is closed’ for the Rossoneri.

The 72-year-old was speaking to reporters at the Gran Gala del Calcio on Monday evening

Montella will really have to prove his worth to get Milan anywhere this year, but he’s done fairly well - it’s just a shame that the board couldn’t even provide him with a token gift
