AC Milan have today announced, in their usually brief style, that they have completed the signing of Lucas Ocampos from Genoa CFC on a loan until the end of the 16/17 Serie A season.
“AC Milan announces to have signed the player Lucas Ocampos on a loan deal from Genoa CFC, until 30th June 2017.”
Ocampos, Milan’s second loan signing of the window will replace M’Baye Niang on the left of Milan’s attack and seems to be a similar player in terms of production where he has rewarded Genoa with three goals from 14 appearances this season.
This is no criticism of Ocampos, but his production seems a bit lacklustre over his career thus far across spells in Ligue 1 & 2 with Serie A, where he has barely hit double digits in, well, anything. Not much will be expected from Ocampos - and that is good. I just hope he can hold up his side of the midfield without deducting from the quality of Milan.
