Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent, Mino Raiola has revealed that the former Rossoneri player wanted a return to the San Siro.
Ibrahimovic’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired in June, and there were reports that a return to the San Siro was on the cards.
Instead of returning to Milan, Zlatan made his way to Manchester United and linked up with Jose Mourinho. Raiola confirmed what most suspected at the time, that Milan couldn’t afford his wages.
This, and the chance to work with Mourinho again were the major factors in Zlatan shunning Milan for Manchester. Ibra earns around £260,000 a week at Old Trafford, a wage Milan couldn’t even come close to at the time.
Zlatan won the Scudetto and the Super Cup with Milan, making 85 appearances for the club before he was sold to PSG. In 2012, he called Milan his ‘second home’ and admitted that if he had to choose which club to return to, it would most likely be Milan.
Money is everything, it seems. But one day, he might be back. Before he’s 40, ideally.
