The honeymoon may already be over for Mario Pasalic and AC Milan.
The German-born Croatian international was enjoying a decent loan spell at AS Monaco last year, before succumbing to a back injury which saw him return to Stamford Bridge for treatment. Following his rehabilitation, Pasalic joined Milan on a one-year loan deal, but not after a two-day medical saga to ensure he was fully fit and raring to go.
Well, apparently whether he is fit or not doesn’t matter anymore.
According to Calcio Mercato, the 21-year old has reportedly failed to impress manager Montella, and is unable to find a place in the team. There are already a host of midfielders vying for a spot ahead of him; Sosa, Kucka, Montolivo, Bonaventura and Poli. Even the injured duo Bertolacci and Fernandez are ahead of him.
Why Montella won’t give him a chance is unknown, but it looks like ‘transfer market regret’ has already sunk in!
The earliest Milan could offload Pasalic is in January, so he has until then to change Montella’s mind.
I mean, you’d at least think he’d get some minutes on the field, right?
