Former AC Milan defender, Alex had arrived in Porto awaiting a medical before his impending move to the club.
Unfortunately for Alex, he failed the medical, with the assessment showing he had sustained cartilage damage sometime during last season while playing for the Rossoneri.
The Brazilian was released from Milan at the end of the 2015/16 season, after making 25 appearances for the club during the season. The centre-back opted to turn down an offer from his old club Santos in favour of a move to FC Porto, however following the failed medical, he might just be rethinking the offer now!
Beginning his senior career in Santos in 2002, Alex then moved to Chelsea where he stayed for five seasons, before moving on to Paris Saint-Germain, and finally, AC Milan. During his time in the Red and Black he made 43 appearance and scored 4 goals.
Better luck next time?
