That was quick!
AC Milan have moved on very fast from their failed attempt at signing Mateo Musacchio, with 23-year-old Gustavo Gomez arriving at Casa Milan today for his medical ahead of signing for the Rossoneri.

Following the medical, it is expected that Gustavo will begin a one year loan with Milan, with an option for the club to retain him on a permanent basis for 8 million euros provided he reaches an agreed number of match appearances.
Gomez’s career began in Paraguay at Club Libertad, before moving on to Lanus for 2.25 million euros in 2014, making 60 appearances for the club. Gomez is also a part of the Paraguay national team, making 16 appearances and scoring 2 goals. Gomez holds an EU passport, thus won’t take up a non-EU spot which is handy.
Milan manager Vincenzo Montella isn’t a stranger to the young defender, who scouted him while at Fiorentina, who, along with Besiktas were also interested in signing the centre-back.
Speaking of, he appears to be the first Paraguayan player signed by Milan.
