The rumours were true!
AC Milan have landed a new midfielder. This time, it’s Mario Pasalic who has joined the red and black on loan from Chelsea. There were reports last week that Milan were scouting the 21-year-old, and they were true!
Pasalic spent last season on loan at AS Monaco, however his loan spell was cut short due to a back injury, returning to Stamford Bridge to receive treatment. Prior to his Monaco loan, Mario also spent time at Spanish club Elche, helping them stay above the relegation threshold (until they were relegated due to financial mismanagement anyway).
This will be Pasalic’s third season on loan from his parent club in London, and both parties will be hoping it is a successful one for the Croatian.
Milan coach Vincenzo Montella talked a bit about the signing, and it looks like he will be trying Pasalic in a defensive midfield role.
Pasalic arrived for his medical earlier in the week, and it reportedly turned into a two day saga to ensure he had fully overcome his back injury. The loan deal will apparently cost Milan €200,000, with a maximum of €1m if playing time quota is not meant for the player.
Welcome to your next loan assignment, Mario!
