M’baye Niang has revealed that he rejected an approach from Leicester City, recently crowned English Premier League champions in favour of staying at AC Milan.

Niang had a conversation with Foxes manager Claudio Ranieri, but turned down the approach as he would be playing second fiddle to Jamie Vardy, and only guaranteed proper game time if Vardy was injured.

While Niang is interested in a move the EPL, he would rather make a move to a club whee he is guaranteed regular first-team football.

When Claudio Ranieri called me, I listened to his offer, then I spoke with my club and we decided not to do anything. I would have only played if Jamie Vardy was injured

Although Milan are a striker down, following the sale of Jeremy Menez, they do have Lapadula, Bacca, Adriano and Niang waiting in the wings, but are still hopeful of hanging onto Niang who has been impressive throughout their US ICC tour.
