Alessandro Matri has finalised a move to Sassuolo ahead of the beginning of the Serie A season.
Matri was still under contract at Milan, however it was due to run out at the end of the season, leaving the door open for offers from other clubs. The fee for Matri is not known, but the journeyman was set to leave the club at any rate.
The 32-year-old, who has now played at Cagliari, Fiorentina, Genoa, Juventus and Lazio as well as Milan, has had quite a journey! Matri completed his medical on Tuesday, and Sassulo confirmed the transfer shortly after. Pretty snappy, right?

Matri’s most successful stint was with Juventus, where he won three Serie A titles between 2011 and 2013, scoring 20 times across those 3 seasons. Unfortunately, he couldn’t replicate that at Milan.
Sassuolo will be the 10th club of the journeyman’s career.
Ciao and all the best, Matri!
