With Pep Guardiola taking the reigns at Manchester City, there was also going to be some shifting out of the unwanted and the deadweights (in his eyes). One of these appears to be defender Eliaquim Mangala.
Mangala came to Man City from Porto in 2014 on a five year contract worth around £32m, but after two very unsuccessful seasons, is already on his way out of the Etihad. Pep has already axed the Frenchman from the Champions League squad, and is one of three players the new manager aims to shove out the door, the other two being Wilfried Bony and Samir Nasri.
AC Milan are reportedly interested in acquiring the centre-back, along with Valencia. With the poor form that Mangala has shown over the last two seasons, I think we might let Valencia take this one. Milan will find their own target in their own time and hopefully, he’s a good one!
