Milan’s lack of European competition in 2016 is ‘unacceptable’ according to coach Montella.

Vincenzo Montella held his first press conference as AC Milan manager today and set out to leave a good first impression on the loyal following of the Rossoneri.

And how does one go about doing that? Well by aiming to get Milan back into Europe, ASAP.

"It's unacceptable that Milan are not in Europe. We will work to ensure that Milan soon return to where they belong. If we're not in Europe now then it means that everything wasn't working perfectly and these are things that I am going to have to work on. Right from when I started to coach, I have always tried to improve -- it's all fed by passion.” - Vincenzo Montella as translated by ESPN

This is amazing to hear. Milan shouldn’t be outside of European competition, but they truly deserve to miss out after a mediocre 2015/16 season which saw them completely stagnate.

That’s fighting talk from coach Montella, and hopefully Milan will come out of the gates swinging!
