Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp ran out as eventual two-nil victors over an AC Milan side which is still very much finding it’s voice under Vincenzo Montella.
A convincing performance by the Reds buried the Rossoneri as Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino put their respective chances past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Of course, Milan’s sloppy defending didn’t help. At all. Towards the end of the game, Milan had severe issues dealing with Liverpool’s attacking speed and to be quite honest, were very lucky to see this match out at 2 goals. It could have quite easily have been more.
That being said, it’s a pre-season friendly. Losses are worth more than victories as more important lessons can come from these losses. Milan were poor, Liverpool are good - we knew these two narratives coming into the game, so they shouldn’t surprise us now.
It’s time to educate the team and move forward. Let’s look for some improvement next time!
