AC Milan backup goalkeeper Michael Agazzi has joined Serie B side Cesena after failing to make an appearance for the Rossoneri and Middlesbrough.

Agazzi joined Milan on a free transfer after stints at Cagliari and Chievo, signing for the San Siro club in 2014, he was then sent on loan to English Championship side Middlebrough in 2015, but failed to make an appearance for them as the North Yorkshire club gained promotion to the Premier League for the 2016-17 season. Agazzi hasn't played a single game for the club since the first half of the 2013/14 season.

There was reported interest from Palermo as well as Cesena, as the Rosanero searched for goalkeeping depth following Sorrentino's transfer to Chievo. Agazzi moves to Cesena on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old reached an agreement with Cesena last week and immediately started training with his new teammates on Monday, his first training session in the black and white shirt for the club.
