AC Milan have today announced that Vincenzo Montella will be the man to succeed Christian Brocchi as the head coach of the Rossoneri.
Montella has signed a contract that is guaranteed until June 2018, but that all depends on whomever takes charge of actually running the club following the prospective takeover.
Takeover talks are still progressing steadily and Montella will be encouraged by the possibility of a potentially enormous summer transfer budget.
Montella arrives from Sampdoria and is a relatively young coach who will look to make a major splash with Milan following spells at Sampdoria and Fiorentina.
The bar is set relatively high for Montella, who will be expected to qualify for next year's Europa League at the very least in a Serie A which is emerging as a hugely competitive league outside the top spot dominated by Juventus.
Here's to you, Vincenzo. May Berlusconi go easy on you.
