Old name, new story: AC Milan are still interested in Sampdoria’s head coach Vincenzo Montella, who never got along with his president and is looking forward to leave his current club.
As reported by calciomercato.com, he’s set to meet Milan’s management on Tuesday morning to negotiate the details of his transfer from Sampdoria. The Rossoneri would have to pay €1.1 million to the Blucerchiati because of Montella’s buyout clause, but they still hope that they can reach an agreement on a lower price.
From a tactical point of view, l’aeroplanino perfectly matches the type of coach Silvio Berlusconi has been looking for in the past couple years thanks to his offensive approach based on ball possession. However, considering the current roster, Adriano Galliani and the market team would have to do a lot of moves to build a team skilled enough for Montella’s tactical approach.
Brocchi, Manuel Pellegrini, Unai Emery, Marco Giampaolo and now Montella, again. The Rossoneri look like they don’t have a clear plan, especially after Brocchi decided to leave the club a few days before his contract expires, but the milanisti hope they will eventually get their man.
