Despite persistent rumours linking Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a return to Milan, the Rossoneri are also considering other options should the big Swede decide his future lies elsewhere.
Roma striker Edin Dzeko has reportedly been attracting the interest of Milan, despite enduring a torrid season at Roma. Whilst the Bosnian proved himself to be a formidable marksman at Wolfsburg and Manchester City, he has scored just eight Serie A goals this season and has often been found wanting at key moments in big games. Why Milan would be after Dzeko is anyone's guess as it's pretty clear that his best days are behind him at this point.
As well as this, Milan have been linked once again with Genoa forward Leonardo Pavoletti. Dubbed the 'Italian Jamie Vardy', Pavoletti has scored thirteen league goals in twenty four appearances this season for the Rossoblu. As someone who had spent almost his entire career playing in the lower divisions of Italian football, Pavoletti's rise to fame this season has been impressive. However, with only one full season of top flight football under his belt, it remains a risk to sign a player like Pavoletti, even in spite of his positive performances. Either way he's a much better bet than Dzeko, although obviously we're still hoping for Ibra.
