Having suffered an injury in training, Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo is now a major doubt to face Juventus on Saturday in a match that could prove decisive for Sinisa Mihajlovic's future at the club. Reports indicate that whilst the injury appears to be a minor one, the midfielder will most likely be unable to face the Bianconeri at the weekend.

Andrea Bertolacci will also miss the match through suspension for his yellow card against Atalanta on Sunday. Juraj Kucka should be available though, with the Slovakian having recovered from the thigh injury that ruled him out for the past couple of weeks.Nonetheless, Milan's midfield is looking very thin on the ground right now and the likes of Andrea Poli and even Jose Mauri could be in line to start Saturday's match simply due to the lack of alternatives.

Montolivo will be evaluated over the coming days to determine the severity of the injury, but this along with increasingly lacklustre performances from the 31 year old should be a cause of concern for both the club and its supporters, especially in light of a potential contract renewal for the player.

If this kind of inconsistency carries on into the final weeks of the season, Mihajlovic might do well to hand opportunities to some of the club's youngsters, such as Manuel Locatelli or Alessandro Mastalli, rather than persevering with the ageing captain for too much longer.
