The move we all knew was going to happen has finally happened.
The Rossoneri have announced that youth team coach Christian Brocchi will manage the first-team until the end of June after a dinner with owner Silvio Berlusconi during Monday night. Mihajlovic, on the other hand, was reportedly dismissed over the phone by Milan CEO Adrian Galliani.
Sinisa Mihajlovic is hardly to blame for all of Milan's issues, but the team is seven points away from European qualification with just six games left and that's simply not a place the Rossoneri should be in.
Mihajlovic was graceful in his exit and took the time out to thank Milan's loyal supporters via Twitter. There's no doubt that he performed to the best of his ability, but unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for A.C. Milan.
It's clear the Brocchi is here to 'steer the ship' whilst hopefully moulding Milan's first-team into somewhat of a cohesive unit for a new man to take over in the summer. However, if a miracle is achieved by Brocchi, he might just find himself in the same position this time next year.
