It's long been assumed that outgoing Italy boss, Antonio Conte will be heading to London to head up Chelsea FC. Even our colleagues over at We Ain't Got No History, think it's more of a when than an if.
A.C. Milan might be about to upset everyone, though.
Whilst Conte had always been considered an outside shout, he might be moving ever closer to managing an A.C. Milan team in need of solid leadership.
The Mirror are reporting that a stumbling block to Chelsea's move for the Italy boss could be that Conte wants an overhaul at Stamford Bridge, with no less than five staff of his choosing joining Chelsea, which may very well scupper the deal. Chelsea's board will be shelling out quite a sum for Conte and are unwilling to give him the luxury of a huge backroom team.
This leaves the door open for the Rossoneri to steal Antonio from under Chelsea's nose so the rebuilding of A.C. Milan can finally begin.
Things might finally be looking up!
