Juventus’ Giuseppe Marotta likes playing around. He’s pretty much told everyone he plans to grab Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma when Gianluigi Buffon departs. He didn’t exactly say it, but he may as well have done so.
'Juventus have given many players to the national team. In the last 20 years, the national team's goalkeeper has always been Juve's - Zoff, Buffon - the history of Juventus is made up of Italian champions and talents.’
It’s been a fairly good season for Milan so far and Donnarumma has been a big reason for that. He’s kept Milan in many games and backed up their defence well. He’s mature beyond his years and could be in Milan for decades.
Not if Marotta has his way. As I said, he named Donnarumma but added “we’re not thinking of him”.
Italy’s goalkeeper has played for Juventus for the past two decades. Donnarumma will succeed Buffon for the azzuri. Marotta and Juventus will come for him.
The date just isn’t certain.
