Mario Balotelli's Recovery Faster Than Expected, Could Be Ready For Round 16

It's great to see Super Mario back on the training pitch, smiling at his teammates again.

Good news for Milanisti this morning: Mario Balotelli is back on the training pitch! As you can see from this post on his Instagram profile, Super Mario is really happy to be back and running around on the pitch:

FINALMENTE

He shared his joy about being back in training on his Twitter account as well, and his enthusiasm is infectious - it's great to see him so happy, isn't it?

Having Balotelli back would mean a lot for Siniša Mihajlović and Milan, since he's probably the team's best option as forward in a 4-4-2 formation. He's physically strong and has the skill set typical of the trequartista, so he could play both as a target man when used with M'Baye Niang, or as second striker when paired with Carlos Bacca or Luiz Adriano.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 25-year-old striker was finally cleared to run with his teammates as part of his recovery from surgery even though he is still unable to train with the team for the entirety of the session. He'll continue to do specific athletic trainings separately from the rest of the team for some time, but he's expected to make his return either in Round 16 against Hellas Verona or four days later for Round 5 of the Coppa Italia against Sampdoria.
