In 2012, M'baye Niang arrived at Milan as an 18 year old from Caen. He initially struggled to make his mark with the Italian giants, causing him to be loaned out to Montpellier and then Genoa.

Niang has started to find his stride at Milan by banking three goals, two of which propelled Milan to victory against Sampdoria. Niang also has one assist to add to his portfolio.

In a recent interview with Courier dello Sport, Niang began by saying:

"If it was up to me, there would be no problems. I see myself in this team for a long time, even for 10 years. I never had doubts: I wanted to move back to Milan because I feel part of this club. I accepted to join Genoa on loan because I wanted to prove that I was somebody for Milan"

Regarding his position on the pitch, the former Caen man added:

"I’m a center forward, I can eventually play as a second striker. If I could choose, I would always play with two forwards next to me. But it’s up to the coach to decide. I thank Gasperini who gave me the chance to play continuously"

Finally, a message to his friend Paul Pogba:

"We know each other very well, and we have played many times together in the youth teams of the national team. He has done better than me, I would like to reach his levels. I’m a more offensive players, but I also fight away from the box"

Only time can tell if he will live up to his word.
