All of a sudden, Milan is four points adrift of a Champions League position.
Another team that could be seeing a boost in momentum is Juventus, which is now in its highest position of the season: 10th.
The Bianconeri should be in 13th, but Juan Cuadrado's 93rd-minute goal separated Juventus from city rival Torino in the first Derby Della Molle of the season. If Massimiliano Allegri's squad can build on that momentum, watch out for Juventus.
Player of the Round: Juan Cuadrado, Juventus
Cuadrado replaced Sami Khedira in the 11th minute and made an immediate impact. The Colombian assisted Paul Pogba's goal in the 19th minute, and he buried the game winner on the brink of full time in Juventus' huge win over Torino.
Serie A Power Rankings, Round 11
|Club||Round 11||Round 12||Thoughts|
Inter Milan (Round 10: 4th)
|Defeated Roma, 1-0||at Torino, Sunday, Nov. 8||Inter and Fiorentina moved to the top of the Serie A table after both picked up wins over the weekend. Inter's was certainly the most impressive, a big win over previous table-toppers Roma.|
|Defeated Frosinone, 4-1||at Sampdoria, Sunday, Nov. 8||Inter's victory over Roma earned it the top spot this week, but Fiorentina keeps rolling after a dominating win over Frosinone.|
AS Roma (1)
|Lost to Inter, 1-0||vs. Lazio, Sunday, Nov. 8||Roma lost a tough game to Inter, but it gets a great chance at redemption in the Derby Della Capitale Sunday night. That will be a fun one.|
|Drew 0-0 at Genoa||vs. Udinese, Sunday, Nov. 8||Roma's loss could have propelled Napoli to the top of Serie A, but the Naples club dropped two critical points against Genoa. Now, after two rounds in second place, Napoli is out of the top three in the table.|
AC Milan (7)
|Defeated Lazio, 3-1||vs. Atalanta, Saturday, Nov. 7||Milan had lost eight straight matches—six in the league—at Lazio. The Rossoneri were out-possessed but put all three shots on goal in the net. And how about 16-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma? The youngster has secured the No. 1 role, especially with Diego Lopez now injured.|
|Drew 0-0 at Udinese||vs. Carpi, Sunday, Nov. 8||Sassuolo missed a chance to close the gap on the top four, but Neroverdi remain in European position. Next up: a Carpi team ready to face the wrath of Nicola Sansone and Antonio Floro Flores.|
|Lost to Juventus, 2-1||vs. Inter, Sunday, Nov. 8||What a devastating result for the Bull. Cesare Bovo put Torino on level terms early in the second half, but Cuadrado's winner at the death was fatal.|
|Defeated Torino, 2-1||at Empoli, Sunday, Nov. 8||Juventus should always be expected to beat Empoli, so the best way for the Bianconeri to build momentum after the derby is to beat Borussia Mönchengladbach in the Champions League this week.|
|Drew 1-1 at Chievo||vs. Fiorentina, Sunday, Nov. 8||Citadin Eder moved into sole position of first place in the Capocannoniere race with an eighth-minute goal, his ninth of the year. It did not hold up for the visitors, however, as a 34th-minute equalizer allowed the Flying Donkeys to share the spoils.|
|Lost to Milan, 3-1||at Roma, Sunday, Nov. 8||A late goal from Ricardo Kishna was only able to make the score look better for Lazio. Milan only had three shots on goal and Lazio dominated possession, but Milan still ran away with the match. Lazio will try to use the derby to get back on track.|
Chievo Verona (12)
|Drew 1-1 vs. Sampdoria||at Palermo, Sunday, Nov. 8||Roberto Ingress's first goal for Chievo was a big one. The 23-year-old forward put the Flying Donkey's back on level terms after Eder's opener gave Sampdoria the lead.|
|Defeated Palermo, 1-0||vs. Juventus, Sunday, Nov. 8||Riccardo Saponara does it again. That is three goals and three assists in eight matches for the young Italian. When he is on, Empoli can get results.|
|Drew 0-0 vs. Sassuolo||at Napoli, Sunday, Nov. 8||A match with 50-50 possession often comes down to what team gets the best chances. Udinese outshot Sassuolo 14-6, but both sides only got two on goal. Udinese missed a chance, but still managed a point.|
|Drew 0-0 vs. Napoli||at Frosinone, Sunday, Nov. 8||Napoli had a chance to go top of the table, but Genoa had other ideas. The Griffins allowed eight shots on goal, but Napoli could not get the ball past Mattia Perin. The bad news for Genoa: Ezequiel Munoz left the match in the 35th minute and could be out six weeks.|
|Lost to Bologna, 3-0||at Milan, Saturday, Nov. 7||La Dea will go up against a hot Milan side on the back of a miserable loss to Bologna. That is recipe for disaster.|
|Defeated Atalanta, 3-0||at Verona, Saturday, Nov. 7||Well, that was unexpected. Bologna are still one of the two veteran Serie A clubs to like for relegation, but this is an impressive result for the Rossoblu.|
|Lost to Fiorentina, 4-1||vs. Genoa, Sunday, Nov. 8||The Canaries may have gotten whooped pretty bad by Fiorentina, but they are outside the drop zone, which is impressive for a club making its Serie A debut.|
Hellas Verona (18)
|Drew 0-0 at Carpi||vs. Bologna, Saturday, Nov. 7||Meh. The two bottom feeders in Serie A were level on the scoreboard and they are level in the table. Not all is well in fair Verona.|
|Lost to Empoli, 1-0||vs. Chievo, Sunday, Nov. 8||It's OK to lose to Empoli when the man doing the scoring is Saponara. You will be OK, Palermo.|
|Drew 0-0 vs. Verona||at Sassuolo, Sunday, Nov. 8||It would be nice to move Carpi out of the 20th spot in the rankings. One day. One day.|
