Mario Balotelli's injury saga will (hopefully) be over soon.
Mario's physical issues have been newsworthy recently. He has not played since Sept. 27 due to pubalgia, an inflammation of the groin. He has opted to undergo surgery in order to fully recover from his injury, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
This is not a conventional solution for this kind of problem, but there have been other players in the past, like Arjen Robben and Mauro Icardi, who underwent groin surgery and recovered perfectly.
Milan's medical staff will need to confer with Liverpool's, since Balotelli is technically on loan to the Rossoneri, before setting the date of the operation. If the clubs agree on the treatment, Balotelli will undergo surgery sometime in the week of Nov. 16 and miss the remainder of 2015 to recuperate.
If all goes well, he should be back on the field in the beginning of 2016.
