Mario Balotelli has been suffering from pubalgia, a groin injury, for about a month, and Milan haven't released any official statement about his health status for a while. The entire medical staff looked uncertain about what to do.

For that reason he had additional medical tests Monday in Copenhagen, and Milan released an official communication on their website about his situation.

MILAN - AC Milan announce that today Mario Balotelli was subjected to a further consultation in Copenhagen with Professor Per Holmich.

The medical staff of AC Milan and Liverpool will agree shortly a new course of treatment.

Pubalgia is frequent for athletes, but it is an annoying injury to deal with due to its inflammatory origins, so Super Mario, who already had this kind of problem last year at Liverpool, will have to change the way he's treating the inflammation. That's the reason he will miss the game against Juventus after the international break, and he's unlikely to return before the beginning of 2016. This forces Sinisa Mihajlovic to rely only on Carlos Bacca, Luiz Adriano, M'Baye Niang and Alessio Cerci at forward for a long time.
