After struggling with injury and form for the first few weeks, El Shaarawy looked to be discovering himself, until now. The club has reported that the forward will be out for six weeks after suffering a fracture to his leg at the end of the Lazio game.

Stephan El Shaarawy underwent medical tests and a specialist visit today with professor Niek Van Dijk in Amsterdam," a statement on the club's website revealed.

The player, right at the end of the match against Lazio on Saturday evening, sustained a fracture at the base of his fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot following a challenge.

The therapy that has been established is that of conservative treatment.

For around 6 weeks, El Shaarawy will wear a foot support and following that he will undergo further medical tests and have another check-up with professor Van Dijk before a return to physical activity.

This means that he will join Mattia de Sciglio and Cristian Zapata in the injury table; two players who have also suffered similar injuries in recent times. His injury is insult to the injury of what was a torrid and embarrassing evening for Milan.
