I will be away this week and for the first time in 30 years I am doing a beach bungaloo vacation. Fishing, writing, riding and absolutely no wifi. It will be odd, and frankly I am doing this less for the blog and more to get away from work for a week. For those who have been around long enough to know about my recent corporate move that lead to more money and inevitably more problems. Being available 24/7 to dispatch Commerical airline issues form a management standpoint is not fun, so I need a break.
You on the other hand won't get a break and we will preview the season in four parts: GKs, Defenders, Midfielders and Forwards...
This will lead us to the start of the season at the end of the month and embark us on what I believe will be the most difficult journey I have endured as the writer of this blog. More importantly the most difficult season I have endured in my 20 plus years of supporting AC Milan. Sounds a bit dramatic, I know, but it's true from the standpoint that this season won't be an easy one. The money to buy isn't there, the existing talent on the roster isn't there, and the tactical nuance and intelligence isn't there. It's a clean slate, but the kind that left a little mark and when you look closely isn't really all that clean.
At the end of the day it really doesn't matter. As Milan fans we have had the good fortune of year after year of solid success. It's time we suffer a bit, you can't really enjoy the highs unless you experience the lows.
