Antonio Cassano has received the green light to resume his playing career, after heart surgery last autumn.

Yesterday a panel of medical experts gave Cassano their go-ahead, with the player then only required to present his case this morning to the Istituto di Medicina Sportiva dell'Acqua Acetosa.

The Milan and Italy striker hasn’t played since October when he fell ill after the Rossoneri’s match at Roma. Tests revealed a rare heart condition that required minor surgery, which the player has been working back to full fitness from ever since.

The club have confirmed that the player has been approved by the Institute this morning and that he can now work towards making a return to first-team action.
