Both literally and figuratively. In a few hours I will leave for a soccer tournament in Rhode Island where I hope to get some beach time and a bit of silverware. But I can't help but feel like I am fishing for news when it comes to Milan as well!? I know the transfer window didn't exactly open with a bang, and the Copa America is forcing teams to hold on to talent to see if their prices rise, but the lack of Milan is news is both worrying and calming at the same time. I mean I like that we aren't linked to absurd moves and player values, but it would be nice to get a bit of news as I read about Inter and Juventus strengthening their squads.
Maybe it is just the calm before the storm, or maybe everyone needs a little vacation, even from the rumors. I was hoping that this season wouldn't mirror last season's final week transfer flurry, but this isn't looking promising. With Mr. X still on the loose and news linking Milan to Hamsik, Drogba, Ganso, Essien, Asamoah and Obi Mikel among others it would be best if a player is added it happens before the team reconvenes and allows Allegri some time to integrate the new player and get Milan flying out of the gates. It is hard to forget last season's early struggles despite a strong first victory, but the end result is all that matters.
I will be back Sunday, hopefully with some more news, but until then just keep doing what you do best, posting rumors and discussing the summer. Look on the bright side, we are only about 60 days away from the start of the season.
