I go away for a few days and come back to this...
Fines...
Berlu's company Finivest got hit, and they got hit hard to the tune of a 560M fine. This will certainly create a ripple effect for AC Milan's transfer campaign, with both he and Fester coming out rather adamantly and claiming Milan will be OK and that the team is "competitive." While I have to admit the team is solid, a few reinforcements and a desperately needed proper CAM were still in the cards, but even Allegri remains calm, cool and collected. Having done more with less he feels Milan are still in the driver's seat for the Scudetto with Inter their closest rivals. I have no problem admitting that a CL is still far off, but building the squad is most important, a second title wouldn't be terrible, but only time will tell if the unflappable Allegri remains calm in this new fire storm.
Aquilani, the CAM solution...
Aquilani, Juventus and the scousers from Liverpool couldn't seem to agree to terms so he goes back to Anfield. I just can't help but think he solves some issues for us, but it looks Fiorentina are in the driver's seat with Milan once again losing touch with capable Italian talent, not to mention talent with something to prove. While Aquilani is not the best option, he is an option, and is a better alternative to many starts for an aging Clarence Seedorf. With Lamela going to Roma, it looks Milan's window for a CAM is closing. While I wasn't high on his price for a player on a relegated team, I just hope Milan's scouts are on the same page in judging him to be overvalued and under talented.
In bed with Genoa...
Milan have once again gone to bed with Genoa for 27 year old Argentine CB, Mattias Silvestre. Prince was a revelation, Sokratis was not, so time will tell on Silvestre. Milan have said he would replace Nesta, and while Astori was the younger better option, it is comforting to see the management understand the need to replace Nesta, but it should be sooner rather than later. Silvestre will play at Genoa for the year and then his position will be sorted out.
GRossi...
Yes Milan are flush with strikers, and Cassano is almost the same player, but I also feel like GRossi can sit behind the strikers and fill the CAM void. While he isn't really a striker or a CAM, Allegri did more with less last season, and while his price is high the kid is a real talent. Not a necessity, but as players move and shuffle, if selling Cassano for GRossi was an option then it is worth it. Then again seeing him at Juventus may be just as painful, as he fits the bill for what they really need to improve.
Deal with the Devil...
This one has had me thinking for a few weeks now. Sir Alex wants Sneijder, and so do a few other teams. But how good would he fit in Allegri's 4-3-1-2, and how amazing would a coup like this be. While it is unlikely Moratti sells him to us at all, his place at Inter seems to be fuzzy, and if the player made some noise, a switch to Milan is not that far off. Now again, I know this is unlikely, but a perfect move for a great player is worth a dream and mention, is it not?
