team played better in first half, especially on the offensive end. 2nd half was downright ugly, with lots of hard fouls (mostly not called), poor passes, and far less possession, which meant far fewer chances for milan. but, all things considered, not a bad day for what was mostly 2nd team, with a lot of spirited play but some of the guys. i expect a. to bench ronnie and pirlo this weekend.

if you didn’t watch the match, its an excellent result.

a 1-1 draw away from home is really good. so at this time, we should be satisfied.

satisfied is different than happy though.

If you dont mind paying, the UEFA web page has archived games. I think they are like $1.99 or something.

in defense of ronnie, who was not very active today, he did play with a knock on his heel. i noticed that when he has subbed, he gestured to his foot when met by Beckham and shrugged as if to say, “i couldn’t do much with this.”

    i thought he did well

Dino gave Pippo better chances than were provided by Seedorf (who played a little better than i expected)

Did anyone watch ol dorfy warpspeed down the wing and burn 2 players??

where the heck did THAT come from??

like i said earlier in the thread, Samuel, I think A. played the dinged up Ronnie because he was short of bodies and does not need him this coming weekend. Plus, some fans probably wanted to see him. That’s the way it goes when you got the name but not quite the game.

however I think if either Kaka, Pato or Sheva were playing the result would of been different; at times Inzaghi needed support and Ronnie couldnt do it alone on an injury.

Shehan was right in that tonights result isnt THAT bad, after all we did draw (not loose) and will have home advantage etc. 4 the 2nd leg

The reason imo that some peeps took it hard was that if you watched the match, we should have won it fair & square!

If you look at how Mourinho used his subs last week, they werent some kinda ‘genius manouvre’ but a good way to hold onto the lead and consolidate it and keep your opponent from getting back into the game

By the 70th min Werder were 1-0 down and put out two subs to give them a more offensive edge.

At this point Carlo either should have replaced Pirlo for Becks (imo – would have kept our offensive option option ie keep the ball and set up Pippo for his 2nd goal) OR replace Dino for Janks and go defensive and close down the midfield

By this point Werder had played their hand, Carlo should have been far more ruthless (either offensively or defensively) and clocked what they were trying to do and OUTSMARTED them

The fact that he only chose to do something in the 85th min leaves me feeling disgusted & totally baffled

Why the heck Chelsea want this clown it beyond me! Someone already raised this point earlier and they were totally spot on, yeah he’s won CLs trophies previously but arent Chelsea watching him RIGHT NOW and telling themselves……”This guys an idiot!”

    God knows, we are!

Sorry, not gona let Dida take the drop for this, we could all see the Werder goal coming so why not shut them out??
