Tuesday Milan Musings
By: Gianfranco | April 15th, 2008I hate to beat a dead horse, but I want to get in a few final thoughts about the Juve game. I am still a bit upset with Bonera and it appears that I am not the only one. It seems Bonera may get a suspension from the FIGC stemming from his poor tackle on Sissoko. That tackle cost the team at least one point if not three, and what hurts more is the confidence lost in the player. I was never a big fan of Bonera as it seems liked he made big mistakes in key situations, but his play in the last few weeks was beginning to change my mind. Now I really don’t know what to feel and at time where his play was needed he let the squad and fans down big time.

LET US MUSE…
-I was a Philosophy dual major in college and there is an old philosophical adage about entertaining a thought. If you do not entertain the thought then it does not really exist as you have no recollection of ever entertaining, and any discussion pertaining to that thought is merely hearsay. Yes I am going somewhere with this I promise. Today Channel 4 and some of the other transfer rags were running story of Rino being sold. I choose to not entertain this thought and consider it hearsay from here on it. There will be no further discussion on the topic.
-Catania left winger Manual Vargas will leave Catania at the end of the season. His skill is well known by Milan fans and his versatility is well known up and down the boot. Vargas has said he wants to go to a top class like Roma. ROMA WTF!?!! I don’t comprehend a world where the reigning CL and World Club champs are not top class, Manuel we will forgive you, come to San Siro and take position in the place of legends, left back.
-If Milan does not buy a whole new team, which we all know is highly unlikely. There is still hope in the youth sides that gave birth to Paloschi this year and many great starts in the past. Darmian and Marzoratti may be called up next year and is sight for sore eyes for this Milan fan. Let us reflect on the formula used by Milan to gain much success across Europe. Home grown talent (Paolo, Costacurta, Albertini, Ambro…) + role playing foreigners (Gullit, Van Basten, Sheva, Desailly, Weah…) = some of the greatest teams ever assembled. Let us not forget that recipe as we move forward into a potential era of rebuilding the Rossoneri machine.

-I wish I could apply my Philosophical theory to the Ronaldinho rumor but it is everywhere from tabloid rags to soccernet.com. Everyday I try to take a few minutes to consider the repercussion of signing Dinho. There are so many that I would type here for hours so I will mention a few here and there and we can really weigh on the “Dinho Implications.”
My first thought, does he start or does he play the bench? If he starts Milan would be in a perpetual xmas tree formation. Pato, Dinho, Kaka, Seedorf/Ambro, Pirlo, Rino, and the rest of the crew. Does this hurt or help Kaka? Will Seedorf be OK with his limited role (he is top class and will probably be OK, and he is getting up in age)? If Carletto is not the coach will this formation make sense? What if Rijkaard comes over from Barcelona? As you can see there is so much to contemplate and lose sleep over, I will let you guys do the rest.

Haha Hana do let us know what you find out.. As a soon to be *cough* chemical engineer *cough*, these things are good to know.
Back to Milan and their sucky physios. WTF? Mystery injury to Pato?! That’s so gay that our doctors don’t know what’s wrong with the players.
I just hope it’s not something serious. I miss ducky already.

well our doctors that everybodys been trashing have helped oddo back in training after just 2 weeks of a meniscus surgery, which is absolutely miraculous.
pato’s injury is near his adductor muscles, and thats one dense muscle group. it could be any one of the dozen muscles that are in that group. its just the finer details.
as for now, we’ve got superpippo, and when hes in form we dont need anybody else…

I’ve got two things to say
One: I have given up on this season, I refuse to even watch football until the Euros.
and Two:
If we acquire Ronaldinho I am done watching Milan and Serie a and I’m going over to Man Utd and the Prem until he is traded away.
Yes, I am extremely pissed at the moment, but I’m extremely pissed in general about this shite. And particularly, the idea of wasting money on ‘dinho irks me even more than I already am. See you around Milan offside.Posted from

Mele, Man U, really?!
And Shehan, I prefer to believe that Oddo’s body is just miraculous and heals at tens times the rate of a normal man. Or I am determined to be illogical in the face of your logic.
Hana, I totally see EmoGila going overboard, pure awesomeness.

Haha, the magic spray just got more mysterious.
“It could be anything. Trainers might resort to any of several remedies for an on-field treatment, all of which can come out of a spray can or bottle. They might use cold water, for example, to cool off an overheated athlete. Or they might spray an abrasion with a tincture of benzoin so they can stick a bandage on some sweaty skin. It’s safe to assume that some magic spray cans contain “skin refrigerants,” chemicals like ethyl chloride that freeze and numb the surface of the skin on contact.”

mele, we’re all mad, and frustrated, and in disbelief. But your team is your team, you stick with them no matter what. Look on the bright side of things. At least we’re not Derby.

Well for the first time in my 25 years I a have learned what “magic spray” is. Funny story when I was thirteen I attended soccer camp in Italy (it was Roma school so i am not all that proud) but the magic spray came out almost every day it was the answer to the worlds problems. Cuts, bruises, sprains, and pulls there was no job to big or small for the magic spray.

Also Mele, dont give up, the tifosi need you among our ranks, and quite frankly going to read your insightful comments on the ManU page would make me ill…

I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who’s not happy about the idea of Ronaldinho playing for Milan. I can’t put my finger on why it just never sounded like a good idea to me (I don’t pay attention to what that would mean for other players, etc., so that wasn’t it), but I just didn’t like it. But then when I heard he might go to Inter instead, I dunno… I might deal with him just to keep Inter from getting him. Ah, isn’t spite a beautiful thing?
Seriously, though, I can’t imagine giving up on a favorite team over one player. Well, unless Milan got rid of Pirlo (blasphemy!!!), which would mean I’d have to become a tifosa of whoever managed to get him.

DUCKY MIGHT BE PLAY AGAINST REGGINA..
so i guess it was all BS about mystery injury.. i spoke too soon about the Milan physios.
Yea, I really don’t like the idea of RVN for many reasons. Here are a few:
1) He’s 31. Milan don’t need any more old strikers.
2) He’s the Inzaghi-type of striker, the type that’s in the box and is always at the right-time and place. We have Pippo, and if there was a replacement, it’d be Gila’s replacement, and I certainly hope it’s not him.
3) I hate him.
4) Another player who was a world-class player at one point, but is feeling like he needs to move on.Don’t get me wrong. The player has one hell of a goal-to-game ratio, it’s incredible. He gets goals, but not the right striker for Milan.
I’d rather Sheva any day….

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PAOLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Maldini was injured today at training and this injury might end his career!! NOT NOW! NO!!

Fetyani lets not go crazy just yet, the official milan site is reporting a lesion on his thigh. To my understaning if translations are not steering us wrong then a lesion is merely a cut or gash, and will heal in time.
As for Rino wanting to leave I again will choose not to discuss that topic without much more info.

From Il Capitano himself…
I have read in the newspapers that there’s lots of interest for Gattuso, but I think that there have always been clubs watching him,” Maldini told Milan Channel.
“However, I have no doubt that the club wants to keep him and I don’t think that Rino wants to go.”

Yah i know gianfranco, i was just shocked, first 2 news i read after waking up for 2 minutes are Paolo is out and Rino out, i just flipped.
Our transfer market according to La Gazzetta,
In: Frey, Zambro, Mexes, Flamini, Sheva & Dinho
Back: Marzoratti, Borriello.
On Hold: Ronaldo
OUT!! Dida, Cafu, Simic, Emerson, Serginho, Gourcuff, Gila.if thats how our transfer market goes, ill be so happy. even though we might need more defense. and id rather loan Gourcuff or even have a first option to buy clause at his contract. actually ill be more than happy with those transfers.

Kaka on Ringhio
“Concerning what’s being said about Gattuso possibly leaving, I think Rino won’t leave Milan because he is a symbol of this team, a lot of things can happen of course, but I believe there is no Milan without the Champions League and there is no Milan without Gattuso.”
hell yah Ricky boy!! now i just need to hear something from Ringhio, the thing that will make me jump and scream “Ringhiooo Gattuso uno di noi…ringhio gattuso unoo di noiii!!”

moka, I think I’ll leave the blogging to people that are actually good at it (points to Big G), but I appreciate the sentiment
Haha, plus, Hana + Insert Random Day here doesn’t have much of a ring to it. I mean, we can go with Wassie Wednesday perhaps? (my middle name). That is a fun concept though. During the summer, we should have one guest blogger a week from our group of wonderful tifosi here. Or something else to keep us entertained (besides transfer rumors) a la “The Great Hair Debate” at the Roma Offside last summer. (How Rino didn’t win with this picture is beyond me…me? biased? noo!) In all honesty, I don’t understand how Pirlo wasn’t even in the competetition! but let me stop before I go on an I love Andrea rant.

Uggh! rest of my comment was cut-off. Anyway, what I was saying is that Ricky is basically incredible (I love when our players come out with intelligent comments…we’re smart, pretty, kick-ass *coughinthefirsthalfcough*. Is there anything we’re not?). And he’s one hundred percent right. It’s Rino…he is one of the very important things that makes Milan…MILAN. That picture says it all. Rino per sempre!
and Gian, very amusing story about the magic spray. Ahh, the magic spray is just one of those peculiarities of football that makes it so darn lovable.

P.S. I have a cousin in Milan and we hosted a party at his house and all the Milan players came, so it was AWESOME.. I was chilling with Kaka most of the time.. and Inzaghi.. he was jokes.. and Maldini, was really fun to be around with.. Pirlo is rather quiet, but he’s cool.. and umm Nesta’s awesome.. and Gattuso was a monster..

i actually met Gattuso in Toronto last summer, greeted him at the airport then went to a Gala in his honor couple of days later. i was personally introduced to him as “the biggest milan and rino tifoso”. i never imagined Rino to be that nice and pleasant. he was all jokes and nice to every single person. and dont forget, June 25th Official Canadian Gattuso Day!!
thats so sick Moka. i met the 2002/2003 Milan squad in the middle east when they played a friendly game over there. had lunch with them at the hotel, it was so surreal, i was celebrity shocked big time, especially when i saw Paolo.
