Speechless
By: Gianfranco | November 11th, 2007As many of you may or may not know, Atalanta vs. Milan was suspended today due to fan protests stemming from the killing of a Lazio tifosi. Many of the fans across Italy were upset that all the games were not suspended due to the death. Last season when a Catanian policeman was killed the entire schedule was postponed.
I have yet to really make any determination on how I feel about the games being played. I will say this, Serie A was already damn near close to everyone’s shitlist and its incidents like these that keep this league digging deeper and deeper holes for itself. In the late 80’s the EPL was experience the same type of fan behavior, (I hate using the word hooliganism its archaic and poor a description of a much more serious problem) The EPL then swallowed its pride and made sure the problem was rectified and has gone to easily become one of the strongest league both in terms of play and financially.
I due find it a bit hard to swallow that the FIGC would stop Napoli fans from travelling to Palermo and not stop games after a terrible incident like this. I will try to keep everyone up to date on makeups and anymore news on this. Feel free to check out the rest of the opinions on the Offside world as well.

Atalanta-Milan could be counted as 3-0 win to the Rossoneri, according to ex-judge Maurizio Laudi.
i believe its not fair at all. its not the players or the team’s fault that they have mentally unstabled fans!

i agree fetyani. god knows we need points, but this is so not the way, they’re tainted. unfair to all parties involved. milan players have been very outspoken about the whole affair, interesting to read their views on the matter, especially seedorf’s. RIP Sandri.

It should be replayed to be most fair, I was a bit intrigued on everyone’s perspective especially Seedorf. Once the international break has cleared I am sure discussions will pick up and a decsion will be made.
